In Manx Gaelic, the word for Oak is 'Darragh'.
This majestic tree is much loved in Celtic mythology for its strength and longevity. Known as the 'King of the Forest', for thousands of years the Druids and celts have worshipped the Oak as their most sacred tree. They believed that the Oak Tree is host to the strength and energy of their gods, and so to catch a falling oak leaf brings good luck and prosperity. The Oak symbolises truth, strength, courage and wisdom.
This bold and beautiful, budding Oak twig bangle has been created and cast in sterling silver from a twig collected from an ancient Oak Tree nearby the studios in the Isle of Man. The method of lost wax casting preserves the incredible detail of the budding branch, creating a beautiful replica of the original in solid silver.
